VATSIM World Tour

94 flights, 350+ hours of flying.

Join me on a tour of the world, in the virtual skies of Microsoft Flight Simulator, spanning over 80 countries. Here, you will find the overall route map, information about completed and upcoming legs (including date/time of flight, relevant charts and flightplans, should you choose to replicate this at some point).

All flights will be conducted when connected to the VATSIM vATC service, once SimConnect and Live Weather are patched, and stable. While most flying will adhere to real-world procedures followed on VATSIM, some VFR flying will take us over restricted airspace (over certain landmarks and sometimes, cities – this may need me to disconnect from VATSIM). All information provided on this website is for simulation purposes only, and must not be attempted in the real world.

The following is the overall route I plan to follow, starting at Lindbergh Field, San Diego (KSAN) for which I have a soft spot, as I used to control there on VATSIM. The first leg will be to the Southeast. Points in blue are airports, points in purple are landmarks I plan to fly over. Some ICAO codes in the list are outdated – I will be updating these as I get to that leg (originally planned for FSX).

A fair number of airports I plan to fly in to/out of are non-major airports, some with short/unpaved runways – just to make things a little more interesting. Few extra legs were planned just to fly to a certain airfield (Madeira, for one). The longest legs are about 1400 nm. Stay tuned, while I get familiarized with the TBM 930!
